For my homemade daily challenge I want to revisit some old favourite techniques. After finishing my degree in Graphic Design in 2002 I did a number of C&G courses in design and craft (part time study whilst working as a graphic designer during the day, yes I've always been particularly keen to have a lot on my plate!)
During the first course I had the chance to experiment with lots of textile techniques before specialising, I found I was a big fan of hand embroidery and patchwork. Thus far evajeanie has only documented free machine embroidered designs and products, but hopefully the homemade daily challenge will rectify this. I sometimes find I only explore this discipline as it is my 'style' but it seems a shame to miss out on other lovely fabricky techniques. With this is mind....
I am going to make a patchwork quilt for my daughter Eva's bed, it will be made up of some really special hand embroidered patches as well as some lovely vintage fabrics. I will post each patch as it emerges from the needle. I don't expect this to be a quick project!
Here's the first patch:

Just to let you know, while tidying my craft room, I found a bag of quilt batting, so I don't have to buy any for my cot quilt!!!
